List of Free Martial Arts Yahoo Groups for Discussion Information and Newsletters

I love martial arts Yahoo groups. I've met some great people in them and some great martial artists. Whether you're a stick fighter, mixed martial artist, light contact tournament competitor, traditional martial artist or self-defense practitioner, there's a free Yahoo group for you.

The beauty of the martial arts Yahoo Groups are the flexibility in receiving your newsletters or discussions. You can select

No Mail – In this you go to the martial arts Yahoo Group to find topics of interest you may reply to and add your own comments to the discussion

Daily Digest – You receive one email containing up to 25 emails from that martial arts Yahoo Group. If you select this don't forget to cut out the unnecessary parts of the email and change the subject heading when you add to the martial arts discussion by replying to the email

Individual Email – My favorite though depending on the popularity of both the martial arts group and discussion you may get a lot of emails. The advantage is the subject can determine whether or not you even open the email or have been on your tippy toes waiting to be able to reply.

I've compiled a list of martial arts Yahoo Groups and I invite you to list your favorite Yahoo groups to promote not only cross joining of members but to help welcome to members to free martial arts Yahoo Groups. Be sure to subscribe to this thread by clicking the Notify tab. Below is the list thus far....

tags: martial arts groups, mixed martial arts discussion, mixed martial arts techniques, taekwondo articles, self-defense newsletters

If you're already on this martial arts Yahoo Groups list page there's no need to click the link above, but please copy the link to the title and email it to your friends.

Don't Worry. I'll Explain How to Subscribe

There are two ways to subscribe to martial arts Yahoo Groups (okay any Yahoo Group).

You may go directly to the Yahoo Group and click Join. Then fill out the information

You may join via email. If you join via email be sure to add @YahooGroups.com to your address book or white list because you'll receive a double check Yahoo Group notification. Open this email and reply to it and you're now a member of the group!

You Can Join Lots of Martial Arts Yahoo Groups

The great advantage over forums for Yahoo Groups is the email notifications and email discussions. You don't have to remember to visit a bunch of martial arts forums and look for interesting topics. The topics come to you right in your email. Thus you can check for interesting martial arts topics as well start your own topics by simply changing the subject line of the email and deleting the contents of the old email.

Okay, On to The Martial Arts Yahoo Group List

This will only work if you contribute

Add your favorite martial arts Yahoo Groups by clicking Reply or starting a New Topic

parents_of_karate_kids

http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/parents_of_karate_kids/

hello, i am a mother of three, two of which are active in martial arts, as i am.I am also a sempai for my 6 YO daughter's class. this group is for parents/grandparents, etc.. who like discussing their child's achievements, ask questions on form, technique, all styles are welcome, we are a renshinkan family.. what about yours? feel free to help me start this club and get it going. we are located in florida, a military family of 10 years, i am also a self defense instructor and hold free workshops in my area. i feel that we should not have to walk the earth constantly afraid because someone cannot afford the classes. i also welcome children. two main reasons i tell the parents is that #1, would you rather send your child out in the world hoping she/he may be able to run fast enough to evade an attack, or send them out with the confidence that they know how to get out of any tight spot? also, me being an army wife i know the expense of daycare and sitters. my children are being raised in a dojo that holds the same rules. karate is for every person. from the genious to the developmentally delayed, such as my youngest. she is almost 3 yrs. old and was born with multiple congenital anomolies. thanks to martial arts and a program called "yoga for the special child" she is literally baffling her specialists and dr.'s every visit she has. my two older children were almost constantly tagged with either OCD or ADHD. now they are tagged with a very intelligent disposition. children have SO MUCH energy to get out of their little bodies and most do not know how to postitvely channel that gift we all as adults wish we had. martial arts, i strongly feel, is the perfect way for a child to celebrate happiness or vent frustrations alike. so, like i said before, help me start this club and get it off the ground. thank you.

Note: A while back I was checking out the group and discovered I had been made the new owner, Rick Kirkham

http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/all_us_stickfighting/?yguid=10613559

The purpose of this group is two-fold. First we hope to promote the deadly beauty of one of the oldest and most useful martial arts weapons ever used in human history. . . the simple stick. The second purpose of this group is to be an online gathering place for all martial artist training in full contact stick fighting so they can come together and openly exchange both their insights, theories & ideas with one another surrounding the modern art of stick fighting. You see it is my hope that by doing so we as martial artist can enrich the art of stick fighting as a whole regardless of where our styles may first hailed from.

non-traditional_stickfighting · Non-Traditional Stickfighting

http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/non-traditional_stickfighting/

What we are:
A groups set up to share ideas from ALL systems of stick fighting.
Open to all who share that passion.

A group set up for the combative (read: real world) stick fighter. Our goal is the development of a system or systems of stick combat based on real world combat and empirical research.

What we are NOT:
A group of arm chair warriors whose sole goal is some sort of ego enrichment.

We are here to answer questions (all beginners, Welcome!), and seek advice (all experienced stick fighters, Welcome!), and compare notes ( if you don't *fight* this is not your group, sorry!) (actually, no, I'm not.)

If you are a mono-stylist who wants to sabre rattle "mines best", this is not for you. If you are a traditionalist who will tell us "That's not the proper way, because my master/maestro/teacher/book says so!" this is not for you.

If you are an open minded stick fighter, looking to find and share ideas
about a stick combat, and are willing to TEACH *AND* LEARN...

WELCOME!

It's on the list of todos

Feel free to list the martial arts forums you know in the martial arts forums board

http://martialarts808.com/index.php/board,12.0.html

It's a lot easier for 100 people to list one martial arts forum each as opposed to one guy list 100 martial arts forums
